This Netflix Original is AMAZING! I love everything about this web series. Especially about the fact it is directed by Tina Fey, who can resist anything she works on, not me!
Kimmy Schmidt was supposed to be originally aired on NBC but was sold to Netflix (thank goodness) in 2015. This show stars Ellie Kemper as Kimmy, Tituss Burgess as Titus and Jane Krakowski as Jacqueline. These three are forever making a huge success of Kimmy Schmidt. This show will have you laughing out loud for the entire thirty minutes. The comedic dry wit is a crazy mix with the seemingly naïve antics of Kimmy, the main character.
The show anchors around Kimmy, a “mole woman”. She was previously trapped underground in a bunker by the “reverend” during the apocalypse. She was ultimately rescued by SWAT and set free. Her next decision, where to live? Should she move back to he hometown or move to New York?
Two seasons in and a third in the making, I cant wait to watch the next season!
A Netflix original series. Netflix has gained quite the fame for putting put their own movies and series. Netflix’s newest series about a ranching family falling on hard times as most families do.
Stars of the show include Ashton Kutcher (Colt), Danny Masterson (Rooster), and none other than super, sexy man’s man Sam Elliott (Beau). This family is your typical family at odds. The youngest son Kutcher runs off after high school to play pro football but never quite makes it. Beau (Elliott) and Rooster (Masterson) meanwhile have been trying to hold down the family ranch by themselves for the past few years. Of course, it wouldn’t be a true series without a long lost love interest, Maggie returns in the second episode. The bog question left hanging over everyone’s heads? What happens between Beau and his estranged wife and what could happen between the affianced Maggie and Colt?
This series is only 10 episodes long, so it can be a quick and easy binge. The episodes definitely have some good comedy but do tend to run on a bit sometimes. But, if you can make it through those bits, you are in for a treat! Season 2 is only rumored to come out this Fall 2016, fingers crossed!
A movie straight out of the eighties! I loved this movie the very first time I saw it in the 90’s and have ever since. This movie stars Robyn Lively and Dan Gauthier (1989). Technically this is labeled as a comedy, but trust me it is definitely one of the coming of age movies that really didnt start coming out until the 2000’s.
This movie is about a girl and the boy she likes. But doesn’t end there. AS this girl may just be a witch and gets all these new powers. What should she do with them? Why put a spell on herself and the whole school of course! But, then she learns her true worth and who she really is.
I can still watch this movie anytime I wasn’t and get a kick out of it!
Just finished watching He Never Died (2015), a classic, dark comedy starring Henry Rollins (Heat, 1995). This movie did start out a bit slow, but eventually picked up. It was a bit hard to follow in the beginning as I was not able to quickly discern where the movie was heading. Was this on purpose?
Basic concept, an immortal who must consume human flesh to survive. This immortal has been alive for a very long time. you’ll never guess who he is. However, he does reveal his identity very subtly about 3/4 of the way through the movie. The main character soon finds out he has a daughter, but this guy is not your typical dad.
I know I haven’t posted in awhile. Sorry about that. Work has been crazy and my house is full, six boys, 10 hours a day! I am exhausted at the end of the day.
But…I made time for date night this weekend with the hubby and the galpals. Went to Art A Whirl with the hubby, open studio event spanning the NE Arts District in Minneapolis. Dinner out at Pizza Luce, and home to crash!
So I basically had no time to post anything, my apologies. Also, had no time to think about the Feature Friday. Will think more on this this week and see what I can come up with on Friday, thinking I might debut something. Kind of leaning towards the Netflix idea, seemed to get a few likes for that one.
I have been thinking about doing a weekly feature. I am uncertain what it is I am going to focus on for Fridays. I know Fridays are probably already busy, but as it is usually my only day off from the jobs, it is my best day to post. No hubby to distract in loving ways, no work kids to supervise either and no customers to be a slave to.
So I have a few ideas, but I am not sure what to share here. I feel a bit mean, cause I don’t want someone else to use my idea, though I doubt they are original. But….here is a list of some of my thoughts for “Feature Friday”.
Character Biopics- I make up a character and flesh them out so to speak
Words of Wisdom- things I hear from the mouths of my boys at work
Book reviews- I read ALOT
Natural Concoctions- some of the recipes and bloopers I make for natural beauty products
My weekly to-do list with comedic commentary
My Netflix addiction commentary and what to watch
Please leave feedback and let me know if anything even remotely sounds interesting.
