A Netflix original series. Netflix has gained quite the fame for putting put their own movies and series. Netflix’s newest series about a ranching family falling on hard times as most families do.
Stars of the show include Ashton Kutcher (Colt), Danny Masterson (Rooster), and none other than super, sexy man’s man Sam Elliott (Beau). This family is your typical family at odds. The youngest son Kutcher runs off after high school to play pro football but never quite makes it. Beau (Elliott) and Rooster (Masterson) meanwhile have been trying to hold down the family ranch by themselves for the past few years. Of course, it wouldn’t be a true series without a long lost love interest, Maggie returns in the second episode. The bog question left hanging over everyone’s heads? What happens between Beau and his estranged wife and what could happen between the affianced Maggie and Colt?
This series is only 10 episodes long, so it can be a quick and easy binge. The episodes definitely have some good comedy but do tend to run on a bit sometimes. But, if you can make it through those bits, you are in for a treat! Season 2 is only rumored to come out this Fall 2016, fingers crossed!
More often than not I scroll through my Facebook account in search of bucket lists and have you ever’s posts. I find them fascinating, for myself and others. I truly enjoy weeding through my own past and find the awesome little nuggets of myself to share with others. I also love reading about others little nuggets of their lives, especially if I don’t get to spend as much time with them as I want or even to remember when with them virtually.
So as a mini writing project for me this weekend…I am going to try and create a bucket list of my own and upload it to here as well as my Facebook account. Hopefully some people will share, probably not others but that’s okay.
As I have been mulling over this little project for the past few days, I have been wondering to myself many options to include. Do I use just simple words for fill-in style or am I okay to use short phrases. I have filled out a lot of these on my own, but want to create a unique one I haven’t seen before.
So here goes and wish me luck!
So my husband came up to me a few weeks ago and was describing his day at work. Apparently he was suing some of my lotion bars at work and a few of the “ladies” at work asked him about it. He told them my wife makes it. Now, he wants me to ready up a list of items I make. The list was really boring as I have no names or titles for my stuff as it is mostly a hobby with no real interest in making it into business. Especially because the natural world is already DIY exploding.
So I made my list but would love some ideas on titles for my stuff?
Help a girl out please?
A movie straight out of the eighties! I loved this movie the very first time I saw it in the 90’s and have ever since. This movie stars Robyn Lively and Dan Gauthier (1989). Technically this is labeled as a comedy, but trust me it is definitely one of the coming of age movies that really didnt start coming out until the 2000’s.
This movie is about a girl and the boy she likes. But doesn’t end there. AS this girl may just be a witch and gets all these new powers. What should she do with them? Why put a spell on herself and the whole school of course! But, then she learns her true worth and who she really is.
I can still watch this movie anytime I wasn’t and get a kick out of it!
So, I am reading a short young adult book right now titled Wraithsong (2014) by E.J. Squires. This book is the first in a series still in formation (Desirable Creatures Series).
This book is about a young girl whom finds out she comes from a very ancient species of human dating back to Norse mythology. and the Adam and Eve story. But her mom wont tell her anything important before her 18th birthday, where she will finally learn how to use her powers. But, alas, something terrible happens and the main character must go on the run and save her life as well as others. But, who can she trust?
So far this book reads very well, some parts I skip but that’s just me. especially the whiny, angsty teenager stuff. I do that for a lot of books tho. Long groupings of inner monologue tend to bore me and this author keeps it short which I love.
I will definitely be getting her second book.
Just finished watching He Never Died (2015), a classic, dark comedy starring Henry Rollins (Heat, 1995). This movie did start out a bit slow, but eventually picked up. It was a bit hard to follow in the beginning as I was not able to quickly discern where the movie was heading. Was this on purpose?
Basic concept, an immortal who must consume human flesh to survive. This immortal has been alive for a very long time. you’ll never guess who he is. However, he does reveal his identity very subtly about 3/4 of the way through the movie. The main character soon finds out he has a daughter, but this guy is not your typical dad.
Let me know what you thought of the movie
Sorry I have been gone for a bit. Life got busy and I got more tired than usual.
No excuses, but…..work work work. With a dash of play with the hubby, I promise.
More to come soon!
Yes I am still trying to figure out what I am going to do about my Feature. Leaning hard on the Netflix idea.
